Draw a variety of shapes – circles, squares, stars and triangles, for example – on note cards or pieces of paper using one shape per card and four or five different colors. Use a variety of colors for each shape.
Show the cards to {LEARNER_FNAME}, pointing out the different colors and shapes and then set {OBJ_PRONOUN} the first challenge: to sort the cards by color.
Once {LEARNER_FNAME} has sorted all of the cards, reshuffle them and introduce a new rule. For example, this time, {SUBJ_PRONOUN} should sort by shape. Keep switching the rules from time to time until you stop playing. |
