PWA Try this
|
Hide a toy under a towel in front of {LEARNER_FNAME} and ask {OBJ_PRONOUN}, “Where is the toy?”
Once {LEARNER_FNAME} finds the toy, repeat step 1 with another hiding material, say a T-shirt.
After several times, hide the toy in front of {LEARNER_FNAME} at a different location (e.g. on the chair). Ask {OBJ_PRONOUN} to look for the toy.
When {LEARNER_FNAME} is older, parents can adapt the activity to (a) hiding two or more toys within a designated area; and (b) not allowing {OBJ_PRONOUN} to look at the hiding process. |

PWA What to look
|
Infants start developing their working memory at 6 months old. Can {LEARNER_FNAME} find out the "disappearing" toy? Parents may hint {OBJ_PRONOUN} by pointing to a direction, or asking questions such as "Is it on the chair?". |
PWA Why this matters
|
{LEARNER_FNAME} needs to watch carefully how parents hide the toy and recall the hiding process for finding out the toy.
