PWA Question Body How did {LEARNER_FNAME} respond over 6 changes?
PWA Tags Indoor;Music
PWA Try this Start off by telling {LEARNER_FNAME} you are going to play a musical game. Then say: Watch my hands closely! When my hands are close together, you should sing very softly. When my hands are far apart (spread your arms), you can sing as loud as you can! As you explain the instructions, modulate your own voice to demonstrate what you are saying. Ask {LEARNER_FNAME} to choose a song {SUBJ_PRONOUN} knows. When {SUBJ_PRONOUN} starts singing, begin moving your hands to conduct the volume of {POS_PRONOUN} voice. After about 1 minute, if {SUBJ_PRONOUN} is able to successfully change {POS_PRONOUN} volume to follow your hands, switch the rule. Again, adjust the volume of your own voice as you explain the new rule. Say: Woah! Everything just went opposite! Now when my hands are far apart, sing very quietly! And when my hands move close together, sing nice and loud! Play a new song as the opposite conductor. Switch back and forth every minute or so. Play through 6 rounds of switching.
PWA Variations
PWA What to look Each time you switch the rule, watch whether {LEARNER_FNAME} switches to respond correctly to your hand motions. Also watch for how quickly {SUBJ_PRONOUN} responds. Note whether {SUBJ_PRONOUN} is aware of the current rule, which {SUBJ_PRONOUN} might show by correcting herself when {SUBJ_PRONOUN} makes a mistake.
PWA Why this matters
PWA Question Response Option first Continued following the old rule after the switch and never did the opposite action ;Mostly followed the old rule, but self-corrected after a pause 1-2 times ;Sometimes followed the old rule (3-4 times), but quickly self-corrected and switched to the opposite ;Sometimes followed the old rule (3-4 times), but quickly self-corrected and switched to the opposite
