Simon Says is a great game that can be adapted in many ways, depending on which skill you want {LEARNER_FNAME} to practice. Try this more tricky version. |

PWA Try this
|
Start with a typical game of Simon Says; you should give a command which {LEARNER_FNAME} follows it, but only as long as it’s preceded by "Simon says." (continue to play even if {SUBJ_PRONOUN} makes the odd mistake, but remind {OBJ_PRONOUN} of the rules)
Once you’re in the flow of the game, start using commands with multiple steps.
Try: Simon says, "Put your hands on your knees and on your shoulders" or Simon says, "Stomp your feet and spin around."
Vary the number of actions in each round, sometimes going back to just a one-part command and sometimes having as many as three or four steps |

PWA What to look
|
Keep track of how many pieces of information you give {LEARNER_FNAME} each time (saying Simon says counts as one) and note how many pieces of information {LEARNER_FNAME} follows consistently; around 75% of the time or more). |
PWA Why this matters
|
By giving {LEARNER_FNAME} lots of pieces of information to remember, you’ll be helping to develop {POS_PRONOUN} working memory skills. At the same time, {SUBJ_PRONOUN} will be using other essential executive functions, such as self-control, which help {OBJ_PRONOUN} guide {POS_PRONOUN} own thinking and behaviors.
