Cut stars, circles, and squares out of colored paper and lay the shapes out on the floor.
Give {LEARNER_FNAME} a sock to use as a monster puppet (decorate your monster for added fun). Explain to {LEARNER_FNAME} that you are both monsters who love to eat shapes and colors.
Suggest that you eat red things together and on the count of three, gather as many red things as you can in five seconds. Play a couple of rounds, gathering up paper pieces according to color.
Next, switch from following a color rule to following a shape rule and suggest a shape to eat. Continue until all of the shapes and colors have been eaten or the monsters are full! |
