PWA Try this
Find a large area to play indoors or outside and ask {LEARNER_FNAME} to watch you carefully and then copy your moves.
Create a silly walk using anything around you as a prop. If you’re in the park, you could hop to the grass, then turn around twice. Announce your actions out loud as you do them (Hop, hop, hop, spin twice, all done!)
If {LEARNER_FNAME} copies your moves correctly, add more to the routine, one by one until {SUBJ_PRONOUN} can’t remember any more. You might walk backwards to the tree, jump, then skip to the playground.
Give {OBJ_PRONOUN} a chance to be the leader, too. |
PWA Variations
PWA What to look
Each action is a distinct piece of information for {LEARNER_FNAME} to remember. For an added challenge, show {OBJ_PRONOUN} the routine, go do something else for five minutes, and then come back and see if {SUBJ_PRONOUN} can still remember it. |
PWA Why this matters
Working memory often involves needing to keep unrelated pieces of information in mind. This game imitates that experience and gets {LEARNER_FNAME}’s whole body moving.
