PWA Try this Prepare a set of 26 alphabet letter cards. Place them face-up on floor/table. Clip 5-10 magazine pictures of things (a) with 3- to 4-letter names; and that (b) {LEARNER_FNAME} is familiar with. For example dog, cat, cup, eyes, nose, soap, etc. Write the names on respective pictures. Take one picture and show it to {LEARNER_FNAME}. Spell out the name aloud for {OBJ_PRONOUN}. Turn the picture facedown and ask {LEARNER_FNAME} to pick up the alphabet letters of the name of the picture just seen. Repeat steps 3 and 4 until all pictures are done.
PWA Variations
PWA What to look Children at 2-3 can recognize most of the letters in the alphabet. With guidance, {LEARNER_FNAME} will likely be able to pick up the correct letters linked to simple 3- to 4-letter words that {SUBJ_PRONOUN} frequently hears of.
PWA Why this matters To complete the challenge, {LEARNER_FNAME} has to make use of the working memory skills - for memorizing the vocabularies, selecting the correct alphabet letters and sorting them in the right order. UTM-EM-016-MAR-22
